Orchid mantises are such beautiful, but deadly, mimics in nature. Standing as still as can be, arms stretched out, wings flared, and they look exactly like their namesake, orchid flowers. Because they look so much like flowers, insects fly to them just as often as they do to real flowers. That is when the mantis strikes and gets its meal. They are usually white with pink accents but can have some other variations in color. Males only grow to about an inch long but females get quite a bit larger around 2.5 inches. These beautiful creatures are very short lived, sadly, and never make it much more than about 5 months if male and 8 months if female. 

This one of a kind bracelet was made entirely from sterling silver. The hand carved orchid mantis, fly, mushrooms, leaves, and tiny stones make it a miniature ecosystem. The bracelet measures 7.5 inches long but it is adjustable for shorter lengths.
